The fabulous new community chat group Ripon and Nidderdale Mumbler launched in Autumn and I was delighted to be asked to be part of their launch with a family portrait prize.
I got to work with the most lovely winning family at their home, complete with gorgeous orchard and farm buildings.
The sunniest day of the year thus far, in the shade of the spectacular Nidd Gorge, Knaresborough. It was so lovely to work with these gorgeous girls, so full of energy. The girls came straight from a morning of Gymnastics training full of beans, hanging upside down from trees and balancing on walls. Daisy dog, much a part of the family was a dream to work with too.
LIFESTYLE SESSION WITH 9 WEEK YOUNG KING CHARLES SPANIEL - AMBER
One of my bestest friends got a puppy ! Let me introduce 9 week old Amber, the King Charles Spaniel.
As you can see, she's currently going through the chewing phase, but its totally made up for in terms of cuteness / cuddles / those eyes / baby soft fur / tiny paws and being totally adorable !
We did a mini lifestyle shoot with her, she did exactly as she pleased and HOW CUTE IS SHE !!
LOGAN AND LOUISE
Just look at Logan's puppy dog eye's ! He looked like this throughout. He and his mummy are both absolutely gorgeous.
Louise got in touch a few weeks back, to arrange photo's of herself and her dog (who she shares with her fiance) to gift to her fiance for
his birthday. Apparently Logan was meant to be a shared dog, but Louise thinks that Logan and her fiance are pretty much kindred spirits, Logan going to work every day with her fiance.
That being said, Logan absolutely relished the opportunity for some time with his mum. You could tell he LOVED all the snuggles.
Louise, Logan and I went for a walk along Boroughbridge Canal. The air had drizzle in it and the sky little light, but Boroughbridge always has a way of being beautiful.
In all the years I've lived around the Boroughbridge area, I have never taken this route to the canal before. After a muddy track, we were met with epic riverside, long grasses (which Logan loved to dig in) and some gorgeous old oaks. I'm looking forward to taking my own gorgeous dog back there for a walk. It's made me look up to find other walks we may not have discovered in Boroughbridge and I found this awesome website full of local rambles - http://www.boroughbridgewalks.org.uk/river-round/
Louise and I were chatting and it turned out we were at Sixth Form in Harrogate together. Neither of us can place one another, but it was fun to reminisce over old school days.
I'll leave you with a few favourite shots from their portrait session.
// SAVING YORKSHIRE'S DOGS : valentines day 2017 //
This month's visit to SYD - Saving Yorkshire's Dogs was a little different. I visited on Valentines Day and some lovely local businesses decided to get involved, to make the dogs feel super loved ! CLT Veterinary Physiotherapy visited on the day and gave the dogs massages and soothing therapies, with lots of love and playtime ! We had a wonderful donation of food, treats, harnesses, toys and other items from VetUK- an incredible local pet care company who kindly cleared out their warehouse in Thirsk for the dogs. Green's Country Store kindly sent with me a giant sized bag of working dog food. And Bedale Pet Shop sent some lovely treats for the dogs. Rowen Johnson Hardcastle and Gallant Dog Services have kindly gathered up donations for the dogs at SYD from their dog walking clients and Sam Telfer, Carmel Wake and Sarah Norris. Also, thanks to dog trainer Kate Holdsworth who kindly sent the dogs some training leads.
Thank you so so much to these amazing companies for helping these dogs feel super loved on Valentines Day. Every single one of them had a smile on their faces.
If you could consider giving one of these dogs the companionship and love that they so deserve, please contact SYD - Saving Yorkshire's Dogs on 07562 986101.

K A R E N + B J
Yesterday, I was invited to join Karen and her beautiful dog B J for his final walk. What a more fitting place than that, with "England's Finest View" at Sutton Bank in Thirsk.
14 yrs & 4 months old, B J has had an incredible life as a showing champion, and stud dog, having fathered 17 special assistance dogs who have done on to help the blind, deaf and children with special needs. Karen told me on their session of the times he would go and pinch a puppy from the litter and take it to his own bed for cuddles.
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies
that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm
and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health
and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your
special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your
life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together
Run free over Rainbow Bridge beautiful B J !
MINI THE GERMAN SHEPHERD
I was delighted to hear I would be working with Mini. Ever since childhood, I've had a huge soft spot for German Shepherd Dogs. When I was a child, I always wanted to follow my dad into the police force and I think the fascination stemmed from there, as back then German Shepherd's were the go to dog for the police.
Mini reignited that wonder of German Shepherds. They really are a breed like no other. They want to lay down as if they're a Collie, they want to swim like they're a Golden Retriever, they lift their front paw in anticipation like a Pointer. But then, they have this immense urge to protect, and such super strength. Super trainable, and really awesome !
We met at Love Lane (how sweet is that)... and went for a gorgeous woodland / riverside walk. Following the old railway line through Richmond. Mini started the shoot, by jumping in the river, little did I know, this was what she'd want to do the entire time we were together. I don't think I've ever met such a water loving dog.

PAWFECTIONISTS : BAXBY MANOR // DOG GRROMING // THIRSK // EASINGWOLD
Last week I was kindly invited to capture some super laid back, marketing shots for Pawfectionists at Baxby Manor (between Easingwold and Thirsk). Tiffany, the owner is one of my oldest and dearest friends, so I was delighted to oblige ! We got some gorgeous shots of her with her dogs to build client rapport and give her viewers a chance to get to know her (see how kind, sweet and fun she is) and see how much she adores her dogs. Then we photographed inside the Salon, to show her client's what's on offer. It's DIVINE !! Take a look at http://pawfectionistsdoggrooming.co.uk/
Meet the team and take a peak around Pawfectionists dog grooming. Tiffany and her four legged helpers are so awesome ! The salon is super warm and cozy, courtesy of a gorgeous log burner and gentle, soft lighting. The dogs (when not being pampered) can rest in the custom built canine stables with soft fleecy blankets. This really is not a grooming salon like ever I've seen before. In fact it's rather more homely and cozy than any normal hair salon. Set in the beautiful countryside of a Manor House. I learnt today, that not only is Tiffany a super talented groomer and equestrian but can make an awesome cup of coffee. (So grab a coffee when you drop off your furry friend for a luxury groom)!
I'm so excited by Pawfectionists, because Tiffany is so passionate behind her reasons for the salon. She has opened her salon, because she knows that a good quality groom truly makes a dog feel better. Her passion shines through when she talks about not only the physical but the mental benefits of pampering your pooch. How it will lift their spirit and make them feel so much more lovely. Tiffany has launched Pawfectionists for the love of dogs. Go see her ! Take your dog. Make an appointment on 07934166612 <3
DOG + OWNER PORTRAITS : SHARON + RODDY
I loved working with Roddy + Sharon on Friday ! Roddy and Sharon are incredible, jointly working with Alzheimers charities and The Red Cross to bring some four legged love to people's day's. Needless to say, Roddy was incredible to work with, so much patience for a dog and consistently looking toward Sharon for his next cue. These guys are just so gorgeous and share so much love.
We photographed Roddy and Sharon around Sutton Bank in Thirsk.
